According to the pivotal role that accounting information plays in enhancing the efficiency of any small or medium-sized enterprise or institution, which in turn are vital for achieving economic development and the success of entrepreneurial projects, the corruption or distortion of this accounting information can lead to the collapse of these institutions, causing economic crises that may threaten the national economy. The quality of the accounting system and the accuracy of the information it provides are key to the success of all users of financial reports. This information contributes to the success of economic and developmental projects as it is relied upon for making sound decisions, optimizing the utilization of economic resources, and planning for any future projects. Therefore, the accounting system has a vital role in the success and support of entrepreneurial projects, which are fundamental to global economic growth. These projects are a source for opening new channels for production and innovation, generating more revenues, and, most importantly, providing job opportunities for youth to reduce the unemployment rate. This paper seeks to answer the questions: What is the concept of entrepreneurship, and how does the accounting profession contribute to the success of these projects? The researcher aims to answer these through a survey of the literature and previous studies to identify the direction of entrepreneurship programs in Libya, the extent of interest in them by stakeholders, and how accountants contribute to their success. This research paper gains its importance by shedding light on a modern trend in Libya, which is the topic of entrepreneurship and its relationship with the accounting profession, highlighting the importance of entrepreneurship programs in creating job opportunities, especially for accountants, enriching scientific research, reaching a clear vision regarding the study topic, and providing recommendations to stakeholders. The study concluded that entrepreneurial projects are vulnerable to failure unless they have an essential pillar: accounting information. This information plays a role in helping these projects perform their work with high quality, which enhances their ability to attract the necessary investments to support sustainable development. The study also inferred the urgent need for mandatory application of highly efficient accounting systems in small and medium-sized projects in Libya to achieve the desired results.
